A season preview edition OF SORTS, as there has just been so much news this week that Nick and Stu have way too many other things to discuss - including competitive football as the season got underway with a League Cup tie, something we're not sure about either, and not just because we endured a turgid, albeit eventually winning, performance against Newport. Alongside a review of that game, we talk Fulham; fixture scheduling and TV nightmares; financial pressures with Bond payments desperately needed; social media views of Aron Sasu; the possible departure of Junior Nkeng; and the PFA seeking higher (!!) wages for lower league footballers. There's some brief predictions about who will finish at the top and bottom of the third tier this campaign, and The 50.1% Club returns as well. A fun show as always!

Welcome to the new season of the 9yrspodcast! Yes, Nick and Stu are still here after 11 SEASONS of the show, and kick-off Season 12 with a round-up of all the news around the club over the pre-season period. We look at a couple of the new signings, lament a couple of departures, and pick who we think might also be on their way out before the summer transfer window closes. There’s talk of kits and bonds, sponsors and coaches, as well as the introduction of a new feature, and, of course, a new game! All completed with a look ahead to the League Cup tie with Newport this weekend. A fun start to the new campaign!

Can our injury-hit and low-on-confidence side get over the line? With Exeter and Burton and Leyton Orient involved in their own mini-league to finish the season, things might be looking okay ... Alongside that, we talk stewards, fan zones, Bonds, and the 2016 promotion-winning side. There's ROFHOG as always, and we take a closer look at the visit to Wigan's BRICK STADIUM, in the hope that their defence is made of Lego.

Nick and Stu return to talk about the outcome of the recent Dons Trust votes that open the first door to selling more equity to investors. It is no doubt needed if Wimbledon are to progress as a Football League club, as injuries to the first team squad have once again exposed depth issues, resulting in just one point from the last 12 that have kiboshed any (admittedly very optimistic) play-off chat. How will the season finish from here? Alongside questions about Jake Reeves, Joe Lewis, and Omar Bugiel, we also have the usual talk of the ills of modern football, a look ahead to the Easter weekend games, and a more painful that it should have been edition of ROFHOG.

<itunes:summary>Nick and Stu pick through the changes that have turned Wimbledon from insomnia cures to entertainers. There are goals, goals, and goals ... but are we taking a risk by being more open? We also investigate injuries and missing players in the squad, before talk once again returns to finances in football, and how the latest set of club accounts from across the EFL demonstrate how far away from reality the sport has become. There's also a fun ROFHOG, and a look ahead to the game with Bradford on Saturday. Did we mention kick-off times? Oh and yeah, a rant on player salaries ...</itunes:summary>

Nick and Stu return with an extended episode to discuss all the latest financial news coming out of the club. What did we make of the recent meeting, and how concerned should everyone be about the immediate future of AFC Wimbledon? There's also lots of RUMOUR and INNUENDO to talk through - was there more to the whispers than people believe? Thankfully we have two wins to discuss to lighten the mood, with the 3-2 win over Reading a source of particular solace. ROFHOG and a look ahead to the trip to Barnsley complete a long but important show!

Alongside that, there is a review of the comings and goings of the past week, from Harbottle to Tilley to Nelson, and what that suggests for the shape of the side headed into what is looking a nervy second-half of the campaign. A glance around League One, talk of bringing cash back to Plough Lane, and a different game of ROFHOG complete another fun, despite the circumstances, episode.
We're back! Nick and Stu return after a winter break to evaluate how the squad is shaping up ahead of a tough second-half of the season, following a dodgy spell of just one win in 11 games. We review the games with Stevenage, Exeter, Leyton Orient, and Wycombe; mourn the departure of Danilo Orsi; weigh-up the pros and cons of starting Junior Nkeng; and wonder whether our forward options are strong enough. There's also the usual rages against the dying of football in the modern day, and a fun game of ROFHOG. We finish with a look ahead to Saturday's huge game with Doncaster.

Nick and Stu are here for the second time this week! This time they review the dour 1-0 defeat at Exeter, and the squad's illness and injury problems, but there are also some fun conversations to be had surrounding kick-off times, substitutes, and the third tier. What would their team look like if only three subs were allowed, and everyone was fit? There's also a more serious reflection on the fan ownership debate, whilst a festive ROFHOG brings some levity to proceedings. They conclude with a quick look ahead to Saturday's visit of Playersfield.

Well we have to talk about it, however painful. The 5-0 defeat at bottom of the table Peterborough was a deflating experience on top of a recent run of poor form, but were there positives to take from it? Well, in truth, no. But we try. Nick and Stu also play a new game: Dons Trust rule-making Tombola, in which new regulations are seemingly plucked at random from a National Lottery machine. There's also the usual weekly game, ROFHOG, and a quick nose around the third tier as per usual. Also some musings on Jason Euell, Southampton, Danilo Orsi, and girlbands.

<itunes:summary>When you're six unbeaten, top of the form table, and over halfway to safety before November, you only have good things to talk about. This positivity - dare we say, happy clappyness - means Nick and Stu go off on a few tangents, free from the stress of any doom or gloom. So this week, talk of Plymouth is joined by some Premier League memories, musing over VAR and transistor radios, The Traitors, ROFHOG, attendances, and the usual look around the third tier. We also look ahead to the visit of Burton Albion. More fun and games on the 9yrspodcast!</itunes:summary>

Running late, but sounding great: Nick and Stu return with a podcast that goes in many different directions. From the draw with Port Vale, to the lack of EFL TV and newspaper coverage, to memories of the Premier League, dodgy pitches, and away day nightmares, it's fair to say we lose track of where we were going at times. But doesn't that make it more fun? There's a game at Plymouth to preview, a game of ROFHOG to play, and a nose around the third tier to raise a number of talking points. A classic podcast to keep you entertained as the nights draw in.

We also glance around the first set of fixtures in the third tier, preview the visit of Lincoln on the weekend, and play possibly the trickiest version of Richard Osman Foyo's House of Games there ever could be. We also give our takes on the new kits, and the England Women's team. There's also - of course! - a brand new game for Stu to sink his teeth into, but for how long, we're not sure ...

<itunes:summary>Nick and Stu return to pick the bones out of a mad week. Why has the team lost the ability to hold onto a lead? There are a few key reasons to investigate. The knock-on effect, with automatic promotion now looking trickier and holding on to a play-off place looking less assured, is also food for thought. Alongside that - how are so many lower league clubs losing so much money? And can Stu get the cryptic clue on MFWAJJOTM? And have you seen Adolescence yet?!</itunes:summary>

Nick and Stu consider the issues, and whether the costs are justified, and if some of the criticism has been a little unfair. Alongside that, we revisit the latest 2-2 draw from 2-0 up, and wonder whether the point with Barrow was actually better than it felt on Saturday night, and if it will serve us in the long run. How important were the changes we made, and is this an end to our dodgy run en route to a procession to promotion?

It's a very late record for this week's podcast, and there is SO MUCH TO TALK ABOUT. Why always Wimbledon? Nick is exhausted, Stu is battling a cold, but we still endeavour to bring you conversation on many topics, such as SMASHING THE FRANCHISE - AGAIN; Craig Cope's new job title; the Dons Trust Election and struggles to organise a hustings event; HOT OFF THE PRESS AFCW PLC STATEMENT; playing Dagenham on a Saturday night; and hosting Grimsby on Saturday. We also squeeze in MFWAJJOTM which is great fun. This is peak podcast with covering a breadth of topics with, we hope, honesty, clarity, and lots of swearing. And you can't teach that.

Timings
02:53 - FRANCHISE GET BATTERED
22:40 - Craig Cope
26:30 - AFCW PLC Statement
45:08 - DTB Elections
55:20 - Dagenham on TV
1:00:40 - My Father was a John-Joe O'Toole-maker
1:03:40 - Grimsby Preview

Ahead of our trip to Franchiseville on Sunday, Chris Draper joins Nick and Stu to discuss the last season of Wimbledon FC, and some of his experiences working for the club whilst the spectre of the steal loomed over our heads. It was a horrible year, but what was it like to straggle that line of fan and employee? Alongside memories of a short but impactful couple of seasons, we discuss more current affairs, chiefly the defeat to Port Vale and the Dons Trust SGM of Monday night. We touch on the midweek not-really-a-game game at Crawley, play MFWAJJOTM, and look around League Two, but there's a 9YRSPODCAST EXCLUSIVE that leads us on to reminisce about football stadiums from the days of yore. Lee also has a crack at My Father was a John-Joe O'Toole-maker, and selects some highlights from his playing career. What felt like a fairly low-key review of a low-key win over Fleetwood, with some discussion about a couple of stadium issues, turns on its head when Nick discovers how much we charge for matchday admission to League Two football.
